What is Breast Reduction?

Many factors, such as genetic factors, weight gain, and breastfeeding, can cause an enlargement of the breasts. Breast reduction surgery provides an aesthetic appearance and helps eliminate health problems such as neck, shoulder, and back pain. Along with the sagging of the breasts, problems such as itching and rashes may occur on the skin. Some patients may even experience difficulties performing daily physical activities. For this reason, breast reduction surgery is not only an aesthetic surgery, but also a necessary operation to protect the patient’s health. It is key to perform this surgery without waiting for health issues to occur and become chronic.

The amount of reduction we can achieve in the breasts varies from person to person, depending on the technique used and on their requests. In breast reduction surgery, the aimed sizes can be discussed with the patient during the examination before the surgery.

Who is suitable for Breast Reduction + Lift?

The procedure is suitable for patients with good general health and who are over the age of 18. For patients who meet these criteria, the earlier this surgery is performed, the more likely problems that may arise as they get older will be prevented.

FAQ

Will there be any scars after breast reduction?

Every time there is an incision on the skin, a scar remains. Although these scars are evident in the first few days after surgery, their prominence decreases over time. While this process takes a few months in some patients, it may take a year in others. The final scar will be determined by the patient’s body and the technique used during surgery.

How much will my breast size change after a breast reduction + lift?

Performing breast lift surgery alone does not cause a significant change in the size of the patient’s breasts. It just makes them look fuller, rounder, and youthful. In cases of breast reduction + lift, the amount of reduction varies depending on the technique used, the patient’s anatomy and her requests. For breast reduction surgery, the aimed size can be discussed during the examination before the surgery, but the exact amount of reduction can only be determined during surgery
